Box Spring Encasements

The base, not the mattress. The half of the bed that gets forgotten.

A box spring is a wooden frame with fabric stapled over it, and the inside of that frame is dark, still and hollow. It is a better home for an insect than the mattress is, and guidance on bed bugs names the base alongside the mattress every time.

If you cover one and leave the other, you have moved the problem rather than solved it. These encasements are cut shallow, up to 9 in, because a base is shallower than a mattress. Check what your base measures before you order, since a foundation and a box spring of the same nominal size can differ by four inches.

The zip closes the same way it does on the mattress encasements, and the cover then lives under the bed where you will never see it again.
